After firing a final round score of 64 (-6) at The Greenbrier yesterday and finishing T5, Niemann might not have secured a spot for The Open at Carnoustie, but he secured a spot on Tour earning his Tour card for the 2018-2019 season.
Maybe the best day of my life! @PGATOUR MEMBER 😎— joaconiemann (@joaconiemann) July 8, 2018
Finishing in the top-10 for the fourth time in his only eight PGA Tour starts, the Chilean star is proving why he deserved a Tour card. He entered the week with 321 FedEx Cup points and after his T5 finish, he earned 93 more points putting his point total at 414.
Niemann became the third player to completely skip Q-school and the Web.com Tour to earning his PGA Tour Card. Jordan Spieth (2013) and Jon Rahm (2016) are the other two, so you could say Niemann is with some pretty good company. Exciting things to come with the 19 year old on the horizon.
