100th PGA Championship Rundown

The 100th PGA Championship will be celebrated this week as the 2018 major finale is finally here. Bellerive will be the host located in St. Louis, Missouri as Justin Thomas looks to defend his title from last season.

Sticking to JT, he is also coming off of his first WGC title last week at Firestone, so he'll look to ride that confidence coming into the championship this week. After the victory, he moved up the world rankings to number 2.

One of the bigger storylines for the PGA Championship is focused on Jordan Spieth, who is looking to complete his career grand slam. If Spieth were to do so, it would make him the second youngest player to ever do so behind Tiger Woods.

Staying with Tiger, it will be exciting to see him tee it up at Bellerive as he will be competing in the PGA Championship for the first time since 2015.

As you would expect, the field for last major of the season is filled with superstars. Out of the top 112 players in the world, 110 of them will be competing. Yes, 110 of them!

With this deep of a field, FedExCup leader Dustin Johnson looks to prove why he is not only the FedExCup point leader, but the world's number 1 as well.

Justin Rose did not compete in the WGC Bridgestone Invitational last week due to back stiffness, but used his time off to prepare for PGA Championship. With a well rested Rose, look for one of the most consistent players on TOUR to come out pin-seeking.

As Bellerive goes, this will be the third major the course has ever hosted. Some early development on the course conditions are that there have been heavy rainstorms that are in fact effecting the greens, as well as high temperatures and humidity.

This year's PGA Champ will be short lived, as the schedule change next season has the PGA Championship moving from the last major to the second in May.

All in all, expect a very exciting major finale to the 2018 season!
