Russel Knox Sinks Huge Putts to Win The Irish Open

Russel Knox showed some huge cajones as he holed out putts on the 72nd hole and the first playoff hole against Ryan Fox. He came into the final round six shots behind the lead, but Erik Van Rooyen couldn't hold onto his lead as 4 players were tied at the top of the leaderboard at one point. Two of those players were Knox and Fox.

At the 18th hole, Fox lead by one stroke and seemed to have his first career European Tour win secured. However, Knox wasn't intimidated in the slightest bit as he drilled the 40 foot birdie putt to tie for the lead with Fox.

You would think riding this momentum, Knox would stripe one down the fairway but, he missed the fairway on his tee shot. Not to be deterred, Knox then hit a very similar putt to the one he had previously hit to get him into the playoff.

Fox responded by having a birdie putt of his own lip out ridiculously, but hey, that's how the game goes sometimes. Knox, with a score of 14-under, earned his first European Tour victory with his resiliency. He celebrated in fashion too!
